The Doctor Who finale to Season 4 was exciting as hell, ending in the two-part episode “The Stolen Earth” and “Journey’s End”.

However, in Stolen Earth various people try and call Doctor Who on a special mobile phone number, which is displayed visibly to the viewers.

According to Techwatch, the mobile no. was 07700 900461 and that various fans tried to call the number - only to find it was a dead line.

Now there’s an opportunity lost - imagine calling that number to hear David Tenant’s voice promoting the Doctor Who website, a DVD release, or similar?

Perhaps next time the BBC shows a number in a program, they’ll consider connecting it with marketing potential?

In the meantime, if you’re suffering Dr Who withdrawal symptoms, the BBC website has a nice little Create your own Dr Who trailer feature.
