Adobe plans to launch the latest version of its Creative Suite design and publishing software on 27 March.

The launch of Creative Suite 3 - the company’s largest software release in its 25 year history - will be marked with an event in New York City, which will be available as a Web cast. Adobe will begin shipping the software in the spring.

Adobe is keeping most of the features of the new release secret until the launch, but it is known that the software will allow developers to design dynamic frames that automatically format images.

The suite will also include a version of InDesign, which aims to allow users to import multiple images in one step. This feature is designed to attract developers away from its rival Quark.

The new software will be the first release of CS3 that is optimised to run natively on Intel-based Macs.

Creative Suite is currently available in a standard and a premium version. Both versions include Photoshop CS2, Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, Version Cue CS2, and Bridge, while the Premium version also includes Acrobat 8, GoLive CS2 and Dreamweaver 8.
