BT Tradespace registers 21,000 small businesses
BT’s Tradespace website and ecommerce platform has signed up 21,000 small businesses since its launch in April.

Tradespace allows small business to offer their products on the Internet, without incurring the expense of setting up and maintaining a website.

Up to five products can be listed for free, which customers can purchase via PayPal. BT adds a five percent charge for itself.

Business can upgrade to a subscription service and get unlimited product listings for £15 per month. BT takes a smaller levy from sales for subscribers.

BT is promoting the networking features of Tradespace, which allows business to contact each other.

It is introducing features which will allow visitors to create a profile and ask questions of businesses and other consumers. They will also be able to review products and form interest groups.

BT also plans to promote the site more heavily to consumers and recruit more companies, extending the range of products on offer.
