Rugby-based software consultancy, Credativ Ltd, has launched a UK Open Source Support Centre (OSSC), which will provide support for all major open source distributions, including Debian, Ubuntu, SUSE, Red Hat, Xandros, Gnome and KDE, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Kolab Groupware, eGroupware, Asterisk, Apache, Samba, Nagios and Xen.
The company will also provide support for free software that is integrated into mixed OS and proprietary environments.
The service is aimed at SMEs, larger enterprises and public sector organisations.
Credativ’s UK centre expands on the company’s success in Germany, where it has offered a similar support service for the past two years.
As soon as a customer calls Credativ’s centres, they are connected directly to the credativ team - there is no call centre to go through.
The service is modular, allowing companies to select the package which meets their needs. The basic package costs £135 a month for 2 hours support and an 8 hour response time, while a comprehensive package offers 24/7 365 days a year support.
Unused hours can be exchanged for alternative services such as advice on security optimisation and system performance.
Credativ has recently opened an office in Canada and is planning to open further offices in Europe.
