EZURiO extends Bluetooth range
by Jan Harris
EZURiO has launched a Bluetooth wireless module which significantly extends the range of the technology which is usually considered to have limited application.
EZUIiO’s technology allows Bluetooth to be used for embedded and M2M (machine-to-machine) applications where additional range and high-performance are essential.
The new BISM II PA module, which is the size of a postage stamp, exceeds one kilometre range in line of sight applications with an on-board, omni directional antenna.
The range is extended even further when the module is used with a higher gain directional external antenna.
The module consumes less than 700mW when transmitting at full power. Indoors, the addition range helps provide a highly tolerant and robust connection.
The extra range helps eliminate black spots in dynamically changing environments such as offices and factories.
In dynamically changing environments such as offices, attenuation and reflection of the radio signal can cause connection problems. The new technology helps eliminate these black spots.
