Tradedoubler affiliate sales hit by tracking errors

by Brian Turner

Computers & Internet

A number of popular affiliate programs in the insurance market have been hit by sitewide tracking errors, preventing affiliates from being credited with sales they generated.

The affiliate programs involved include those for major insurance companies, such as Directline, Prudential, Privilege, and Churchill, who run popular affiliate schemes through Tradedoubler for a range of insurance products, including home insurance and car insurance.

The sitewide tracking errors are reported to have occurred early on Saturday, but not detected until the following day.

While affiliates were alerted to the tracking issue early this evening, there is still no news of an actual solution having been implemented.

According to affiliate managers of these programs, the companies are working hard to implement a solution, though no date is given for when this is expected to be completed.

However, both Directline and Churchill have announced that compensation based on traffic provided will be provided to affiliates over the period in which tracking had failed.

UPDATE: The Green Flag affiliate program is also affected.
UPDATE 2: Prudential & Privilege are also affected.
