BT unveils IPTV advertising campaign
by Brian Turner
BT has launched its first national advertising campaign designed to promote BT Vision as Britain’s most flexible digital TV service
The multi-million pound campaign, which is led by AMV BBDO, includes national TV advertising supported by a nationwide BT Vision poster campaign, and adverts in newspapers in magazines.
There will also be a specially created advertisement for the Clapham Colossus at Clapham Junction – the largest backlit poster site in Europe.
BT has redeveloped its website at www.bt.com/btvision as part of an online campaign, including rich media ads on the home pages of MSN, Yahoo! and AOL.
BT Vision is provided via V-box – an HD-ready television set-top box which connects to BT Broadband. Customers have a minimum guaranteed line speed of 2mb per second and access to thousands of hours of on-demand content and Freeview channels.
The service also provides a personal video recorder (PVR) which can record up to 80 hours of programming.
V-box, which is worth £199, is being offered free to BT Broadband customers and there is no extra charge each month for the DVR function – giving the service an edge over its main competitors.
Installation by a BT engineer costs £60, with a connection charge of £30.
