SME's not worried on interest rates

A study by The Royal Bank of Scotland has found that SME’s are generally unconcerned with interest rate rises, with only 1% listing it as a concern.

The survey covered 1,400 companies with a turnover of less than £1 million.

Main concerns highlighted included keeping profits levels on the rise, and dealing with red tape. The majority were otherwise upbeat about expected performance, with 49% expecting turnover to increase, and 32% expecting an increase in calculated profits.

Interestingly, the study found only 6% of respondents claimed they’d started their business simply to make money.

While interest rate rises have concerned manufacturers, analysts are generally expecting the British economy to experience increased growth.
