Adobe Systems Inc has announced two major upgrades to its digital photo and video software - Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 for Windows and Adobe Premiere Elements 4 for Windows.
Both applications now feature the Adobe Lightroom interface complete with charcoal grey colours. Customers can access content, such as video clips, from one convenient place, and export to YouTube, mobile devices and interactive galleries.
Photoshop Elements now includes a Smart Album feature, which creates “Smart” folders that are automatically updated. The cropping feature has been improved, as has the ability to edit pictures.
A user-friendly guide for new users has also been added, with easy to understand directions.
The new package also has more web gallery functionality including the option to auto build flash galleries without having to know any programming.
The software is currently only available for PCs, but a Mac version could be announced at Macworld 2008 in San Francisco.
With Adobe Premiere Elements 4, users can create movies in just minutes. The application has been enhanced with the Smart Album feature and improved and added themes. Themes can be added to a sequence of scenes, creating a movie with transitions, effects and a DVD menu.
A new audio mixer allows the relative volume of background music and sound effects to be adjusted.
Both packages will start shipping this month at £69.99 each or £99.99 for a package of both applications.
