Aaron Wall at SEO Book gives a great run down of a recent high-profile case of forum spamming by someone using a script to start threads at a range of SEO forums.

Aaron’s list of resources on the matter is pretty comprehensive, butfor additional comments it’s worth looking up the thread at Threadwatch where some key industry people make their own comments on the matter.
