Google updates backlinks

Apparently, Google began a backlink update across its datacenters about 12 hours ago.

Whilst this used to be an occasion webmasters would normally wait eagerly for, the changes in which Google now reports backlinks means that the figures are a lot less meaningful, and so current pass with a grumble about the “good old days”.

For the record, the Platinax homepage is currently showing 6,410 backlinks on Google, the community showing 2,290, and the directory showing 5,060.
