A man living in the Channel Islands, has successfully claimed damages of £270 from a company who sent him unsolicited email.
Nigel Roberts filed a claim against Media Logistics UK, who had sent unsolicited e-mail providing adverts for contract car firms and a fax broadcasting businesses.
Although Media Logistics UK acknowledged the claim, they failed to appear to defend themselves, and the judge ruled against them.
In an out of court settlement, Media Logistics UK agreed to pay £270 in damages, plus £30 filing costs.
Nigel Roberts says he filed for an amount for under £270 as that allowed the case to be settled as small claims.
