As part of its ongoing development of PC-to-mobile messaging technology, General Wireless will be the first company in the world to offer SMS and MMS PC-Plugins for Microsoft Vista and Microsoft Outlook 2007.
The new technology, which is targeted at small and medium-sized enterprises, addresses an increasing demand for mobile connectivity.
The PC-Plugins, known as eSMS and eMMS, enable anyone with an internet connection to send text, pictures, sound and video from PCs to mobile phones.
They seamlessly integrate with Outlook, Outlook Express, and Internet Explorer and are also compatible with Outlook 2000, Outlook XP, and Outlook 2007. They have been adapted to work with the new security policies in Vista and Outlook 2007.
The mobile messaging market in Western Europe alone to be worth $15.4bn by 2010 and the new eSMS/eMMS-plugins will provide opportunities for increased revenues for service providers such as mobile operators, ISP’s and Internet portals.
General Wireless will demonstrate its eSMS/eMMS messaging products at the Global Messaging Conference in Monte Carlo June 5-6, Booth 48.
