Logitech unveils new HD webcams

by Darren Allan

Logitech has taken the wraps off a new range of four High Definition webcams.

Top of the line is the Logitech HD Pro Webcam C910. This records in full 1080p, and allows the user to make video calls in 720p.

It also boasts dual microphones, one either side of the camera lens, and what Logitech calls “crystal clear” stereo audio. The device is compact, too, at only 25mm deep.

You’ll pay for that quality, mind you, with the C910 weighing in at £89.99.

A much cheaper option than that is the mid-range HD Pro Webcam C510, which will be half that price at £44.99.

The C510 is a portable model with a “fold-and-go” design which means it fits in the average pocket (presuming there isn’t too much loose change in there as well).

It’s also capable of 720p quality for video calls, and sports a 360 rotation feature, meaning you can spin it round and include other people in your video calls or recordings.

Cheaper still at £34.99 is the Logitech C310, and the C270 at £24.99, both of which can’t boast the same still image quality as the above models, but still manage 720p video conferencing.

All of the HD webcams come with Logitech’s Vid HD software to facilitate your HD calls, and they also have one-click upload to Facebook and YouTube for extra convenience for you exhibitionists out there.

The two budget model HD webcams are expected to arrive in the UK in July, with the two more expensive options rolling up in August.
